Euregio.Net is the first Belgian web hosting provider to have installed special software to create automatic global mirror sites.
We employ special software which serves the images and multimedia files of your site from a mirror server which is the nearest to your visitor. We've already installed several mirror servers to provide even faster access to American and European visitors. More mirror sites for the Pacific Rim region will soon follow. These mirror sites and their load are constantly monitored and traffic distribution is automatically balanced according to the current situation. There is still plenty of bandwidth available on these redundant T-3 lines.
When you update your site locally, the newest files are automatically distributed to the mirror servers. The plain HTML files are always transferred from the main server, however your visitors will notice a vast improvement in speed when the images are served by our mirror servers.

Euregio.Net monitors its network backbone on a constant basis from the NOC in Eupen. All servers are checked for their basic functions. However special utilities make it even possible to test your site's performance and if all pages are completely served. The monitoring software is able to resolve most of the problems - in the unlikely case that there are any. Our network managers will always be paged and receive a trouble ticket in their e-mail mailbox when something goes wrong. All systems can also be monitored and restarted from remote locations and our office in Wirtzfeld.

Euregio.Net standardizes exclusively on high performance Cisco routers and access servers which are connected to a switched backbone. The server backbone is on a 100 Mbps Fast Ethernet LAN. The web server farm at Euregio.Net consists mostly of high performance PowerMacintosh G3 servers. These servers are very reliable and the operating system is the most secure operating system for Internet servers. Each server is able to handle several million of hits per day through the switched 100 Mbps Fast Ethernet. The 300 MHz or faster PPC 750 processors are twice as fast as similar Pentium II processors. The servers use 192 MB of high speed RAM and very fast Ultrawide SCSI RAID disks to further increase reliability.
We also run dedicated database servers with SQL and Filemaker databases. These databases can be integrated into web sites and Internet applications. The web servers can access any database that complies with the ODBC standard. It's also possible to outsource internal databases and applications to Euregio.Net's NOC for reliable and continuous operation.
Euregio.Net also uses and maintains special purpose UNIX and Windows NT servers, NATs and firewalls. The hardware and software combinations available allow unlimited possibilities for your business.

Euregio.Net was the first Internet Access Provider in Belgium to offer special customer support services on the world wide web. From the beginning, we realized that customers want to receive detailed information about their online activity. We created a CGI script which allows our customers to check their online time. While we already offered this service back in 1995, we now see more and more Belgian ISPs adding this service to their sites. Customers can keep an eye on their phone bills and Internet usage fees. Other web operated services allow the customers to change their passwords and get statistics for their web sites.

Most web sites are developed offline and then transferred to the web server using FTP (file transfer protocol). The web site accounts on Euregio.Net's servers allow the web site owner to make changes to the site through a web interface. It's possible to (re)move and copy files, to edit HTML pages and to upload new information using a very user-friendly web interface. This is very useful when you are surfing your own site and notice a typing mistake or you need to quickly add some information. You don't need any special program but you can use your standard web browser.
